1. (via Up by Jawbone)

Curious to try out this new product by Jawbone. I’m not a health nazi, but I do like having random data to use when implementing new lifestyle experiments, and the vibrate-alarm would be worth it, even without the other features.

It compares favorably with the Fit Bit when it comes to portability, too, it would seem.

  2. (via Slim Slimmy Ultra Thin and Compact Wallet Alternative)

Even though I’ve recently switched over to the Mojito for my minimalist wallet needs, the Slim Slimmy still has a special place in my heart as the wallet that kept my money safe (in my front pocket) across 4 continents and almost 30 countries. A great option if you’re looking for something uber-simple and want to make the move from cash to plastic (because really, it won’t carry much cash).

  3. (via JOBY GorillaPod Original - The Original Flexible Tripod)

I’ve been traveling full time for 2 years now, and since the beginning of my wandering I’ve kept one of these little gizmos in my day bag.

Until you’ve used a Gorillapod, it’s hard to understand why they would be use useful and versatile, but it really is the best ‘let’s pose together in front of this whatever’ or ‘I want evidence that I saw this thing’ device, as you can adjust it to be level on any type of surface, and even wrap it around polls and such, should that prove necessary.

There are also newer versions that have magnetic feet, or that hold things other than cameras (lights, for example…pretty brilliant idea) that are worth checking out, based on the quality of the original.

  4. (via Raspberry Pi | An ARM GNU/Linux box for $25. Take a byte!)

Along the same lines as the Cotton Candy, this little ‘Raspberry Pi’ computer will start at $25 and could be sold in a credit card sized form-factor.

Can’t wait to snag one of these when it’s available.

The idea of having a full-fledged computer the size of a thumb-drive, and one that plugs into any screen with the proper ports is fantastic. I’m thinking it would make a perfect backup computer, just in case something goes wrong with the laptop.

  6. (via Mojito – Compact Travel Wallet | Malcolm Fontier)

Until the end of 2011, buy two of these minimalist wallets and get a third one free (great gifts for all those December holidays).

I have one of these myself, and it’s an elegant and very practical alternative to ‘bulky wallet’ syndrome.

  7. (via Flight 001 | GRID-IT MED GREY - Laptop & Camera Cases - All Products)

Fascinated by this concept. Love that it’s just a woven mesh of elastic bands, too, which means you can make your own sized straps, rather than relaying on pre-sized ones that never quite fit what you need them to fit.
